I went to the final evening of the Chinese Lantern Festival at Ontario Place, 2006. From the description I'd read, it promised to be an excellent oportunity to practice night shots with light as the subject matter.
I have to say, if you have the opportunity to see it this year (visit http://www.chineselanternfestival.ca/e/index.html for the differing opening and closing times throughout the summer). The spectacular show runs July 19 to October 7.
During the evening the weather acted up with wind and rain making photo-taking more difficult, but I did manage to come up with some nice shots. I hope I captured the essence of the festival.
