Lee-Chin Crystal Opening At The ROM - Toronto, Ont.

June 02-03, 2007 Saw the grand opening of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal addition to the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Architect Daniel Libeskind designed this daring new addition to the Toronto landscape, which has had it's fair share of controversy. Personally, I find it more intersting from the inside. There are no 90 degree angles; even the pillars are all set at angles creating a dynamic setting for what, traditionally, one would expect a calm, soothing surrounding in which to view art. I predict it will become a favoured tourist attraction and will (at some point in the future) be lauded for it's inovative design and stunning beauty. Following are photos taken June 03, 2007. As yet there is very little art, but over the next several months will fill with permanent exhibitions.
